Whyizzit? (GAS intensity)

Whyizzit? Why are so many folks suddenly notifying me that their G.A.S. attacks have become so intense lately? Is it possible that the economy and associated cutbacks have led to increased denial and delayed gratification, which has transformed their former strain into the dreaded PentupGAS strain?

  1. Yep, it is a combination of the pent up GAS that has been building due to rising prices, the constant possibility of job loss, and lower used guitar prices.... I mean, a fella can just take SO much!! I haven't lost my job, but it's shakey. There are so many axes to choose from being offered up by sellers who HAVE lost their jobs.... and the prices on good used guitars is better than anytime in the last 10 years.

  2. Because they are more intense these days. New axes are higher [thus, more out of reach] than ever and used ones are more plentiful than ever.

  3. I think it's definitely a pent up demand. Someone who is used to satisfying their GAS on a regular basis can only be fiscally responsible for so long before their Master Card atrophies and their wallet goes limp. This delaying tactic is the exact opposite of the rare affliction of "Premature e-GAS-ulation" in which gear lust is satisfied before it reaches it's normal apex.
