This is a fun spot where sufferers of Guitar Acquisition Syndrome can share their G.A.S. experiences. My book "GAS - Living With Guitar Acquisition Syndrome" is filled with questions & stories like this. I'm looking to do a monthly magazine article. Check www.jaystrings.com for pictures and to order the book.
I just purchased a copy of your G.A.S. book for my son – a 25 yr old guitar nut who is finally, after 8 yr, on his way to getting a college degree in music composition. Truthfully he is extremely talented in composing, singing, guitar (of course – his first love), saxophone, and keyboards. He has been in several rock bands – and is in one currently – if you can imagine a metal band with blues influence?? He has his list of the greatest guitarists of all time, with Eric Clapton, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kirk Hammett, Jimmy Page, Robert Johnson, and lesser known Steve Vai right at the top of the list. Myself? I don’t play any guitar…(I do the keyboard thing) although as a music lover, I just know a good guitarist when I hear one. Thanks for the opportunity!
